New year, new blog post! It's been a little bit and I've got some exciting updates to share with you here, so let's dive right in.

Mocap Shoot completed!

After weeks of careful planning, organizing, and recruiting my Martial Arts combat mocap shoot is done! We managed to get over 46 unique shots (a personal record) within 1 day.

This was largely due to the preparation and rehearsal I got to do I feel. This combined with having 2 actors who could switch in and out when the other got tired led to some crazy productivity.

Next up will be the Data Cleanup that I will be doing in Motion Builder, very excited to learn the software and I've got plenty of material to work with now that's for sure.

Below is a little video I made about the process from start to finish!

At last, an Internship!

My fortune seems to have finally turned as i believe I've finally managed to find myself an Internship. I can't say much about it yet as I've not yet signed the contract but I will be able to work with an OptiTrack motion capture stage! (alongside a bunch of other cool mocap-related tech) This internship kinda took me by surprise but after some research, I am very very excited about the opportunity as the company seems like a cool place to work and my supervisor seems like a very passionate kind person so I'm sure I'll be able to get along with him just fine!

The first playable is now available (ha that rhymes).

After 5 weeks in development, Martial Combat is now available on Itch.io! (albeit behind a password and only for closed beta testers but that's just minor details)

Gonna be getting playtests in sooner rather than later as I want to prioritize control and game feel above everything else for this project. That is all for this week, I'm gonna settle in and get to cleaning! I've got over 50 individual fbx with multiple takes to slog through :)
