Hello, it's me again. Sorry for the long wait between posts, lots of stuff going on behind the scenes.
To put it simply, I found an internship! I'll be joining Remedy Entertainment as a Performance Capture Trainee. I'm moving to Finland this next Tuesday and I cant wait to get started!
In the meantime, I want to catch you guys up on some of the stuff I've been working on.
Where I've been the last 2 months.
For the last 9 weeks I've been working on a project under NDA for Behaviour Interactive, so what I can say is limited, but I can tell you I've had a great time!
During the project I got to:
Design and prototype a core gameplay feature
Organize and shoot a motion capture shoot using Xsens inertial motion tracking.
Manage a team of 14 people, interacting with some pretty important people from Behaviour Interactive!
Do a ton of other cool stuff :)
(Un)fortunately, I got an internship, so I will be leaving the project earlier than the end date. This internship opportunity is simply too good to pass up, requiring me to start as soon as possible.

Learning C# (god help me)
I've made the big decision to learn a programming language. This is something thats been on my todo list for a while but never got around to.
With me diving deeper into performance capture i learned that knowing a programming language is a massive benefit for connecting the various systems together.
I've chosen C# due to it being easier than C++ while still being a C-based language.
Additionally, C# is the language used for both Unity and Godot, GDScript is an offshoot of C#, so it will be a big benefit to me if I need to adopt a new engine in the future.
For this I'm following the great book "The C# player's guide". This book explains the core concepts in a wonderfully structured manner alongside fun challenges to apply what I've learned.
So far I've learned about more generalized programming basics, but I will soon be moving onto part 2: Object Oriented programming.
That's all folks
That's all from me this week. I am absolutely swamped with preparing for my move to Finland, but I will try my best to start posting again regularly once I've settled in.
Cya!
